Chief Technology Officer

Greg Wiegand

Greg Wiegand is a founder of MicroPlanet and one of the inventors of MicroPlanet’s technology. Prior to MicroPlanet, Wiegand was a research engineer for LifeSpan BioSciences, Inc., where he conducted feasibility studies and prototype development which lead to the automation of their In-Situ Hybridization process. He was the founder and president of Zero Gravity, a company that provided electro-mechanical design and technology development services to the motion picture industry, where he was the lead system design engineer and project manager on a wide range of projects from special-effects motion control to specialty lighting. Wiegand studied physical sciences at the University of Montana, and also at the University of California at Berkeley, where he participated in an experimental, interdisciplinary education program led by Professor Joseph Tussman.

Chief Financial Officer

Ed Garth

As a serial entrepreneur for the past 30 years, Ed Garth has collaboratively financed and built more than 30 start-up, early-stage and early-growth high-tech and medical companies in both the private and public sectors. He has developed and managed the companies’ financial, administrative, operations and legal affairs. As executive officer, founder, turn-around specialist and adviser, Garth has completed more than 150 capital infusion transactions including private and public offerings, license agreements, corporate partnerships, corporate sales, and bank- and asset-based financing. He began his career as a certified public accountant with Touche Ross & Co., specializing in audit and tax.

Vice President, Engineering

Dan Lennon

Mr. Lennon has 25 years of experience in product development and project management, with 10 years in engineering and manufacturing management, including knowledge of best engineering and manufacturing practices and compliance with UL, CSA, ISO, RoHS and FCC requirements. His experience includes 15 years at Philips Medical Systems and 10 years with several start-up, high growth companies. He has a BSEE from Northeastern University.
